This will be Mishra’s series: Raina

July 22, 2016

Stylish left hand batsman Suresh Raina made a strong statement that this West Indies side won’t be able to withstand the strong Indian unit which is led by Delhi lad Virat Kohli. The Indian team has 3 spin bowlers, which include- Veteran Amit Mishra, Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja but the southpaw has pointed out that it will be Mishra, who plays for the Delhi franchise in the IPL would be particularly on fire in the Carribean.

According to India today, Raina stated that “India will win by a big margin and, Amit Mishra will be the star performer in this series. Raina further explained the leggie’s role and said “His ability to spin the ball on those pitches will make him most difficult for West Indies batsmen to handle in this series,”

According to Raina, the pitches would suit the batsmen more but it would be Amit who will come out as the best as he knows how to exploit such conditions and stay patient. “I have a feeling this will be his series even though the other two spinners, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have also bowled well in the side games. Anil (Kumble) Bhai’s inputs will give him ideas as well as confidence and that’s what a leg spinner needs.”

Raina also said that he feels that this West Indies side is slightly inexperienced as only 3 players have the experience of playing more than 20 Tests.  “Can’t say much about the players in this West Indies team but I don’t think they can stand up to the Indian challenge. They don’t have the same players they had till a few years back, even Dinesh Ramdin has been dropped.” said Raina.

Being bold enough he also said that there are high chances that the visitors might just clean sweep the series and it would be a comfortable tour for the Asians “India will win comfortably, 3-0 or maybe even 4-0. I went to Bangalore for a day and the camp looked full of intent and the team looked so positive, Anil Bhai and Virat Kohli will surely make this a memorable tour for India,” he predicted.

As a conclusion he stated that “The heat can at times get to you so the bowlers will have to stay patient, especially when the ball gets older,”

We hope that his words come true and both Team India and Amit Mishra have a great series which is already underway.
