CHENNAI, May 26: Chennai Super Kings opener Murali Vijay became the fourth player after Chris Gayle (three), Adam Gilchrist and David Warner (two each) to make multiple hundreds in DLF Indian Premier League when he scored 113 (58 balls, 15 fours, four sixes) against Delhi Daredevils at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Friday.
Vijay also became only the second played to make a hundred against Delhi Daredevils in IPL after Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Chris Gayle scored 128 not out (62 balls, seven fours, 13 sixes) in Delhi earlier this month. When he was on 55, Vijay completed 2000 runs in 83 T20 matches.
From a Delhi Daredevils perspective, off-spinner Sunny Gupta became the 53rd player to be capped by Delhi Daredevils in IPL. And, paceman Varun Aaron finished with the most expensive bowling figures in IPL with two for 63.
