CHENNAI, May 13:  When he hit his solitary four in Delhi Daredevils’ DLF Indian Premier League game against Chennai Super Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium here last night, the visiting team’s captain Virender Sehwag crossed 2600 runs in 95 T20 matches.

With 476 runs in 13 matches, Sehwag was in third place in the list of run-scorers in IPL 2012. Chris Gayle (572) and Ajinkya Rahane (480) were ahead of him. With 1860 runs, Sehwag is in fifth place in the list of run scorers in IPL after Suresh Raina (2129), Sachin Tendulkar (1951), Rohit Sharma (1944) and Gautam Gambhir (1932).

When he scored his first run in this match, Delhi Daredevils opener David Warner became the third player to reached the landmark of 900 runs for Delhi Daredevils in 34 matches. Sehwag (1860) and Gautam Gambhir (1097) are the others to have got there.

Yogesh Nagar’s unbeaten 44 (47 balls, one four, one six) is his best score in IPL matches while Venugopal Rao crossed 1100 runs in 66 T20 matches when he was on 10 and Chennai Super Kings’ Suresh Raina reached 3000 runs in 113 T20 matches.
