Shami made his debut in IPL in 2009 when he was picked by KKR but he managed to play just 4 games for them. He was bought by Delhi in 2014 for 4.5 crores but has managed to play only 12 games over two seasons.

He is likely to open the bowling for the team along with either of Coulter Nile or Zaheer Khan and the team will look to him to provide them with early breakthroughs. His death bowling is something which the Indian team and Delhi has missed and his return will be a huge boost to the Daredevils.
