The DareDevils Ready To Deliver The Knockout Punch
This Friday, The DareDevils fans will be glued to their television sets supporting their teams in the first semi-final of the first ever IPL. Delhi DareDevils are slotted to play against The Rajasthan Royals. Here’s a SWOT analysis on the teams to clash.
The Delhi Daredevils
Strength – The top order has been firing. With Gambhir, Sehwag and Dhawan in great form they will look to post a big total if they bat first or chase any total with ease. Their bowling has been good. McGrath has been economical, Mahroof on target and Amit Mishra spot on. Other players have also shown sign of coming into form.
Weakness – The fielding has not been at its best. Sehwag has been taking few gambles which have gone against them.
Opportunity – Sehwag needs to think well before executing his plans. Fielding should be improved before it actually hurts the team. The middle order is slowly but surely coming into form.
Threat – Lady Luck had not been on Delhi’s side and the rain Gods also seemed to shower on every Delhi outing. Sohail Tanvir has been in great form. The DareDevils need to watch him out closely.
The Rajasthan Royals
Strength – Warne’s captaincy has been great. Sohail Tanvir has been the best bowler around. Watson has also been good with both bat and ball. The early entrance to the semis has given them time to try out other players and assign roles to them.
Weakness – The bowling, as we saw in the last match, can crumble under good batting. The players’ inexperience at the international stage is also one of the problems.
Opportunity – They can look beyond the inexperience with help of able guidance of Warne.
Threat – The top order of the DareDevils is too good. The Royals cannot dare to take other players easily as well.
The two teams have played each other twice with each team winning once. But The DareDevils have the momentum with them as they are coming in after winning their match against Mumbai. On the other hand, for The Rajasthan Royals, it seems their previous wins have gone into their head as their performance against The Kings XI was very rusty.
The DareDevils have shown that they can beat any team in the IPL and with their other players coming into form they will surely be tough to beat. The deadly combination of in-form batsmen and on spot bowlers should be enough to steer The DareDevils to victory.
DareDevils go and thrash The Royals; all the fans are with you.
