Daredevil Karthik confident on eve of opening match against Kings XI

Dinesh Karthik, Delhi Daredevils’ wicketkeeper and vice-captain exuded confidence on the eve of the opening match against KingsXI Punjab in Mohali on Saturday.
"Both the teams are well balanced and we should have a keen contest. Our game plan is to win and keep the momentum going," said Karthik, a consistent bat for Daredevils.
Daredevils will miss the service of pace spearhead Ashish Nehra for the opening match. Nehra has been ruled out of the match due to an injury.
"Losing Ashish is going to be difficult for us as he held the perfect balance in our bowling attack. He was definitely the biggest player we had," said coach Eric Simmons said at a press conference.
In Nehra's absence, Australian Dirk Nannes will have to shoulder the responsibility of the team's pace attack.
With Gambhir away in Mumbai for the opening ceremony, Karthik did the duties and sounded confident. He said the Delhi team batsmen will fire and post good totals. “We are looking forward to our top order and middle order firing so that we can put the opposition under pressure," said the Tamil Nadu cricketer.
The Daredevils have a host of international names to choose from. David Warner, AB de Villiers, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Farveez Maharoof are all present. So are Moises Henriques, Wayne Parnell and Dirk Nannes. Daniel Vettori and Paul Collingwood are yet to join the team,
Delhi's batting line-up is studded with Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. In bowling they have Dirk Nannes, one of the fastest in the competition and a genuine spinner in Amit Mishra.
