Tracking (Nov 23) - Gambhir, Dilshan and Collingwod smash centuries

Daredevils Gautam Gambhir and TM Dilshan playing on opposite sides continued their excellent form into the Test series between India and Sri Lanka Daredevils batsmen were in great form in all formats around the world.

Gambhir scored a fine century in the first Test against Sri Lanka at Ahmedabad and Virender Sehwag scored a quick 50 as the duo gave India a fine start in the second innings. Earlier another Delhi Daredevil TM Dilshan also scored a century.

Elsewhere in South Africa, Daredevil Paul Collingwood leading England scored a brilliant unbeaten century 105 not out in 110 balls as England won the match against South Africa.

India v Sri Lanka, TEST SERIES


Nov 16-20 – India v Sri Lanka, 1st Test at Ahmedabad
A century each by TM Dilshan (112 in first innings) and Gautam Gambhir (114 in second innings) besides a fifty by Virender Sehwag (51 in second innings) made it a virtual run-fest for the Delhi Daredevils batsmen engaged on either side in the India-Sri Lanka first Test. In addition Amit Mishra (24) coming in as a nightwatchman held one end up with Gambhir in second innings. Earlier in the first innings, Gambhir made 1, Sehwag 16 and Mishra was not out 7.

With the ball Mishra had one wicket (Mahela Jayawardene for 275) for 203 runs in 58 overs on a batting pitch, while Sehwag bowled four overs for 19 runs. Dilshan bowled one over each in both innings for Sri Lanka giving away three and two runs.
The match was a draw with India scoring 426 in first innings and 412 for four in second. In between Sri Lanka made a record 760 for six.

South Africa v England, ODI SERIES

Nov 22, 2009 – South Africa v England, Centurion – 2nd ODI
Paul Collingwood smashed a century as England took a 1-0 lead in the one-day series against South Africa. Collingwood made 105 not out in 110 balls with seven fours and two sixes and put on 162 for third wicket with JL Trott as England reached the target of 250 with 252 for three with four overs to spare. Collingwood earlier took two wickets (HH Amla and JM Morkel) for 24 in six overs. Collingwood also took one of another Daredevil AB De Villiers, who made only two runs in his team’s 250 for nine in 50 overs. Collingwood was adjudged the Man of the match. De Villiers took one catch.

South Africa v England, T20 SERIES

Nov 15, 2009 – South Africa v England, Centurion– 2nd T20
Paul Collingwood missed out the match, and AB De Villiers made 24 in 13 balls as South Africa beat England by 84 runs in the second T20 match. The result leveled the series 1-1.

Nov 13, 2009 – South Africa v England, Johannesburg– 1st T20
Delhi Daredevil batsman England skipper Paul Collingwood scored a quickfire 57 in 32 balls with three fours and four sixes as England beat South Africa by one run in a match decided by Duckworth Lewis method. England made 202 in 20 overs and then restricted South Africa to 127 for three in 13 overs when rain came down. Collingwood also took one catch while AB De Villiers was 10 not out when the match ended. Adopting the D/L method England won by one run.

New Zealand v Pakistan, T20 SERIES (IN UAE)

Daniel Vettori missed the two-match series on Nov 12 and 13 in Dubai
