Daredevils coach Saker confident of his aresenal

New Delhi, October 3: Delhi Daredevils coach, David Saker is oozing confidence on the eve of the Airtel Champions League T20 tournament which begins on October 8.

Saker, who is the Chief coach of the team in the absence of Greg Shipperd, who is coaching Victoria, said, "We have the ICC Test player of the year (Gautam Gambhir), the ICC T20 player of the year (Tilakeratne Dilshan). Then there is the explosive Virender Sehwag. I don't see any other batting line-up that can match ours."

Added Saker, "We have a pretty strong team and they have been playing together for a while now and I think on our day Delhi is simply unbeatable. Apart from our batting we have some excellent pace bowlers and Amit Mishra and Daniel Vettori have been the best spinners in the IPL. The pace attack has Ashish Nehra and Dirk Nannes and Pradeep Sangwan."

Saker feels the team's arsenal is probably the most destructive of all the 12.

Saker's who played first-class career in Australia till 2002-03 became the assistant coach at Victoria under Greg Shipperd in 2004. Saker was Daredevils’ assistant coach in the first two editions of the IPL as Shipperd shifts to Victoria for this tournament.

Saker, who is part of the Victorian outfit, says that his loyalties won't be tested in the tournament. But he did say that the close relationship with some of the players and Shipperd means both sides will have a better knowledge of each other.

"We both may have an edge but that doesn't mean much in Twenty20. I mean Shippard's been part of Delhi for the past two years I have been with Victoria for a while now. He and I know the inside-out of both teams but in T20 all that hardly makes a difference," he said.

"In fact the only advantage that the teams will have here is home advantage and that will only be applicable for the local or Indian Premier League teams," he added.
